Our Ethics
Thoughtful goods, chosen one at a time
I started Ethical Spirit because of what I found out about the crystal industry. Child labour, low pay, dangerous working conditions, and exploitation running right through it. I didn't want to be part of that — so I stopped buying from it, and started something different instead.
Everything here is chosen by me, piece by piece — the jewellery, the crystals, the herbs and resins, the balms and candles. If I wouldn't use it myself, it doesn't go on the shelf.
What I look for
Where a maker tells me where their materials come from, I'll buy from them. Where a supplier can't, I usually won't. That means fewer things on offer than you'll find elsewhere, and sometimes a longer wait for a restock.
It may take a bit more time, and probably a bit more coffee, but it's worth it.
What you won't find here
Fear. Pressure. Claims that a stone will fix your life if you just spend enough. Your practice is yours — I'm here to hand you good tools and let you get on with it.
A little honesty
I'm not a guru and I won't pretend to be. I'm someone in Luton who cares about natural materials, quiet rituals, and the planet we're doing all of this on. I believe your spiritual practice shouldn't come at the expense of the planet or the people on it.
